Job Application for Senior Hardware Engineer

💼 5 to 7 years📍 Pune (Wakad) · On-site⚙️ Hardware Engineering

We are looking for

A Senior Hardware Engineer and future leader who designs embedded product hardware end to end: architecture, power, analog, digital, microcontroller and communication interfaces – and then proves it on the bench. You will take products from requirements to a validated board, working alongside firmware, QA and manufacturing, across medical, industrial and IoT products.

The person we are looking for owns the whole board, not just the schematic: they select components with supply and cost in mind, design for the enclosure and the test jig, and treat bring-up as part of design, not someone else’s problem.

Should have the following responsibilities and background

1. Architecture and Design

  • Work with the development team and product managers to define product hardware architecture.
  • Design embedded product hardware as per requirements: power supply, analog, digital, microcontroller and communication interface sections.
  • Select components balancing performance, availability, cost and lifecycle.
  • Design and develop schematics in Altium Designer.

2. Layout and Manufacturing Hand-off

  • Design PCB layouts in Altium considering EMI/EMC and enclosure requirements, or guide a layout engineer doing so.
  • Generate Gerber files and coordinate with PCB manufacturers on ordering, queries and delivery.
  • Handle component procurement for prototypes and coordinate with the prototype assembly team.

3. Bring-up, Debug and Collaboration

  • Lead board bring-up, debugging and problem solving on your designs.
  • Coordinate with the firmware team on hardware-firmware integration and with QA on validation.
  • Mentor junior hardware engineers and review their schematics and layouts.

Technical Skills Required

  • Hardware Design: 5 to 7 years designing embedded product hardware: discrete, power and microcontroller-based designs.
  • Power & Analog: Power supply design (DC-DC, LDO), analog signal conditioning, protection circuits.
  • Altium Designer: Schematic and PCB design; multilayer and mixed-signal boards.
  • Memory Interfaces: Flash, eMMC, SDRAM, DDR2/3/4 design and integration.
  • Interfaces: SPI, I2C, UART on-board; USB, Ethernet external interfaces.
  • Wireless: BLE, Wi-Fi, RF, LoRa integration experience.
  • Bring-up & Debug: Board bring-up, systematic fault isolation, bench instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyser, multimeter).
  • Collaboration: Strong communication; comfortable in a fast-paced Agile / Scrum environment.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

  • Experience on medical devices or other regulated products (CE, FCC, UL, BIS, ISO 13485 awareness).
  • EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing exposure and design-for-compliance practices.
  • Working knowledge of embedded C to aid hardware-firmware debugging.
  • Experience in a product design services or contract development environment.

Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate in an Electronics-based branch.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in embedded hardware design.
  • Good verbal and written communication in English.

What Success Looks Like

  • Your boards go from schematic review to validated bring-up with few surprises.
  • Firmware engineers trust your designs and your judgement during integration debugging.
  • Junior engineers improve measurably from your reviews and mentoring.

Remuneration & Work Location

  • CTC Range: As per industry standard for relevant experience.
  • Pune, Wakad Office.
